About Us
Owner & Lead Engineer: David Van Cleve
Audio Video Systems’ owner David Van Cleve learned at a young age from his grandfather, a top MIT electrical engineer, not only how signal flow worked but also to do the job right the first time.
From the early 80’s he absorbed himself in the audio world and soon combined his love for electronics, craftsmanship, and music into a budding career.
After wiring a few family and friends’ homes, David moved to LA, and quickly established a who’s who of clients including such luminaries as Marlon Brando, George Clooney, and the Hearst and Getty families.
When not working for his own clients, he honed his craft at well established custom AV firms like Christopher Hansen, Intl., Cello Music & Film, and Robert’s Home Audio. From Residential, Retrofit projects that incorporated AV, Telecomm and Surveillance.
David eventually expanded his designs to encompass Commercial and New Construction, Intrusion Security, Access Control, RadioRa2 lighting and Savant control.
